Our mission

About Dementia Circle

Dementia Circle exists to make reliable, compassionate information about dementia accessible to every family that needs it — regardless of their resources, background, or where they are in the journey.

Why we exist

A dementia diagnosis changes everything. Families suddenly need to understand a complex disease, navigate a fragmented healthcare system, make difficult legal and financial decisions, and provide increasingly intensive care — often with little preparation and limited support.

Dementia Circle was created to help. We are an educational resource — not a healthcare provider, not an enrollment service, and not a sales platform. Our only goal is to give families the clear, accurate, compassionate information they need to navigate this journey with greater confidence.

What we stand for

Clarity over complexity

We write in plain language. Medical and legal concepts are explained without jargon, because families under stress should not have to decode what they are reading.

Accuracy over reassurance

We do not soften difficult truths. Families are better served by honest information than by false comfort. We cite reputable sources and update our content when evidence changes.

Dignity for everyone

People living with dementia are whole people with histories, preferences, and value. Our content reflects that. We do not reduce people to their diagnosis.

Support for caregivers

Family caregivers are the backbone of dementia care in America. Their wellbeing matters as much as the wellbeing of the people they care for. We take caregiver burnout seriously.

Editorial standards

All content on Dementia Circle is written or reviewed by individuals with expertise in dementia care, caregiving, or healthcare. We rely on peer-reviewed research, guidance from major health organizations including the Alzheimer's Association and the National Institute on Aging, and the lived experience of caregivers and people living with dementia.

We do not accept advertising or sponsored content. We do not receive compensation for recommending any organization, product, or service. Our resource directory is curated based on reputation, reach, and usefulness — not commercial relationships.

We review our content regularly and update it when guidelines, research, or programs change. If you notice an error or outdated information, please contact us.
